Carbon 12 that is a wonderful idea!
I own a 9.3X74R now, and I will soon have a Mauser in 9.3X62. I am going to build it on a GEW length Steyr Mauser. I hope to acquire a KAR length Mauser to make myself a 9.3X57 in the coming year.
All could use the makarov bullets I am sure. I may even make up a gas-check mold to cast some "mak bullets"
If I can get good accuracy from these 3 rifles with love velocity loads I'd bet they would be great for pests and for filling the stew pot on hunts with small game.
The Gew and KAR lengths are the same, the difference being the KAR has a ring diameter of 1.300" vs the Gew at 1.410"
