Of all the rifles I own my SAKO 222 is the only one I have that has a high-magnification scope on it. A 4X-12X Redfield of 1972 Vintage.
It gets used on Prairie Dogs a lot, and at 12X I can hit them waaaay out there. I used it as my main rifle for hide hunting for several years and I killed more coyotes and fixes with it that I could count. But I ran the scope down to 4X or sometime 5X for hide hunting.

Now days I have gone to an accurate AR-15 16" carbine as my coyote gun and I use a Weaver K4 on it.
