I wish you good luck. I got tired of looking about the time Marlin made the 1894FG. I did not like and did not want the pistol grip stock but knew I had better get a 41Magnum anyway I could. I knew from MarlinOwners.com that they could be fixed either by cutting the bottom tang and reshaping the stock or trading the bottom metal/lever/stock to someone who had a '94 they wanted to convert to pistol grip. I swapped out the works with my own 32/20 for a while but I griped about it so much on MarlinOwners that I had someone that wanted to trade. His stock came off of a Cowboy model without the checkered stock (which is what I wanted anyway.) I removed the checkering from my forearm, stained it to match and had an 1894S look-a-like. The original versions from the 1980's are few and far between, or so it seems. If you look long enough and are willing to pay enough they can occasionally be found. Best of luck to you sir.
