I have found that the polymer frame soaks up a lot of the sharp recoil impulse. Going from a Glock 20 to a Colt Delta Elite in 10mm was an eye opener for me. The recoil in the Colt was significantly sharper than in the Glock 20.
Interesting MD and DF, my 5" all steel DW 10mm shoots kinda soft with the 200's at 1200 fps, recoil impulse seems quite mild, never shot a Glock 10mm for comparison, a F/A 454C firing 335 gr hard casts at 1585 is certainly has some sharp recoil impulse, the gift that keeps giving, even 30 minutes after you've cleaned it and put it away.
