I would go to a shop and have him shoot several as well. I was thinking about getting back into archery a couple years back. Bear Archery had their entry level package bow at a steal ($300-400). I REALLY wanted to like the higher end stuff, but after shooting the Bear, I loved it. I was launching VERY tight groups after not touching a bow for 15 years. That's not a testament to my skill, but rather how easy and "shootable" their bows are.
I tried PSE, G5, and some of the higher end stuff just to compare.
