Both of my shoulders have had rotator cuff surgery so I now shoot lighter bullet loads in my bigger rifles. All of them have Decelerator recoil pads and in addition to shooting lighter bullets I also shoot somewhat reduced loads in some instances. The LEE reloading manual has a good section on calculating powder charges for reduced loads.
