Mahalo for sharing your hunt. It was great storytelling of what sounds like a great hunt! I grew up doing hunts like that. I'm curious what ranch you were hunting? BTW, the word you're trying to capture is "Laho'ole". Laho is the nugs. ole means without (or "no more" in pidgin english). I have a bowhunter friend that took a head-on shot on a bull (I didn't get the full story, but I think it was charging him). The arrow hit forehead and didn't penetrate very far. The bull got to him and tossed him airborne and I believe he's lucky to be alive.

Coincidentally I'm headed to Kona for work tomorrow. I'll stop in at my friend's bow shop and get the full story.
