Why?

They are both bolt action centerfire rifles with matte CM metal and injection molded synthetic stocks that typically sell in the same $300 to $400 market niche.

My most recent Remington 700s have "EL" (10/17) and "AM" (03/18) assembly codes and both seem fine. Not without faults, but they only cost $430 per unit and since I had intended to restock them and change them from ADL to BDL format when I bought them, those additional costs were factored into the decision process.
