I did everything wrong with my Creedmoor adventure and it still shoots pretty well.
First off I bought a cheap 700 SPS sporter.. Then I stuck it into a light fibreglass stock by grinding out some bedding to get it to fit.
Then I shot factory ammo. In this case Federal 120 gr Trophy Copper.
I had boresighted it at home and hit paper at 100 with the first group. The first 2 shots I put through the barrel touched. The third opened it up to .520"
Let it cool and then shot two groups back to back at 200 that went 1.06" and .90"
The Timney trigger and the 6.5-20 Leupold may have helped.
If I rebed it I might be be able to get rid of those fliers....:-)
I plan to shoot it at 300 today and see how it holds up. Then swap a 3.5-10 on it for hunting.
With a 120 @ 2800 it's a 257 Roberts with a .007 larger bullet diameter. We know the Bob works...........
