Rather than make a whole new thread I'll just toss this on here. Backpacked in for a few days for elk. I passed on a smallish herd bull about like the 5x6 below first thing on the opener at 65 yds, probably should have killed it in hindsight but I hadn't gotten to do any hunting yet! Saw a couple other small bulls and ended up chasing an OK 6x6 around but never could close the deal. I had a spare cow tag so I filled that and carried meat up and down the hill for a while. Good hunt, meat in the freezer!
