I would lean towards a Sako but it looks like it could be adapted to a short model 70. The Monte Carlo could go away or be reduced but it would be a good foundation for a Retro rifle as is. I would use Thomas Shellhamer's suigi finis or Aqua Fortis for a darker color. Potassium DiChromate would make the birds eyes pop and practically jump off the stock. I have seen some with so much chatoyance (depth & movement) that I wondered if it would spook the deer.
