Have him shoot some H&H before he rechambers; he may not want more recoil for an extra 50-100 fps.
He ran about a dozen Hornady 270 grain factory loads through it to have it huntable in H&H trim for this past bear season. He said it wasn't as hateful as he thought it might be. But he also said he was pretty happy to have not needed to run a second dozen through it at that sitting. He's a fairly recoil-tolerant young gent.
Either way...………. H&H or Weatherby………it'll be a carry a lot - shoot a little proposition. He'll do just fine with it either way.
