I use the Kifaru gun bearer. I can definitely deploy the rifle much much faster then slung over the shoulder. With the use of trekking poles, my 20" barreled mountain rifle did not get in the way at all. I cannot see myself ever using a shoulder sling again in the mountains. I love it.
