The Landscape seems to have changed very quickly in the last handful of years.

Gaillard is retired. McLennan sold out. I understand Jury is defunct.

Ron Smith is still in the shop along with his son, but he is approximately ... 83 years old?

I have heard decent things about International Barrels in Chilliwack but have no experience. My last few barrels have been either Benchmarks sourced through Bighorn sales in Houston BC, or else Pac Nors.

Actually I’ve seen quite a few Benchmarks used by members in the local silhouette club. They are not the cheapest but can be gotten quickly thanks to Gary’s inventory, and every single one has been a screamer. My present 6BR, smithed by Greydog, is at least a 3/8moa shooter for 5 shots. My 22LR is as good as the ammunition, you can’t get any better than that. They are my Option #1 these days.

Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!
