I'm wondering if there is a straight-wall cartridge wildcatted on a .30-'06 or .308 case (0.473" rim) that I could re-barrel a Mauser 98 to that would feed cartridges from the magazine? I've got a Ruger 77/357, so I don't have to convert the Mauser; but I would if it were a reasonable project, because I just like the Mauser better. What research I've done isn't encouraging. I've never had a wildcat rifle before, so it would be nice if there were already dies and pressure-tested loads available.
