Was able to try different sit-on and sit-in kayaks owned by friends and decided a sit-on was not for me. At 6'1" 215 lbs the most important features for me is a long cockpit for ease of getting in and out and reasonable weight. I settled on a Perception American Islander. It is a 11 footer with a 51" cockpit length. Most of my fishing is done locally when I get time in my busy life. Throw it in the back of the pickup and I can be on the water within minutes.
