Here is my '69 vintage M-39 with 24" barrel, Fajen butt stock, checkered by me when I was around 24, will be 74 this Sat. So, 50 years ago.

It's had a number of configurations, one as a CAS companion to my .45-70 Cowboy, both with tang sights.

Now, it wears a VX-2 3-9x40 with CDS, set up for the Fed 38 gr. Game Shok, 50 yd zero.

Note the trigger stop that I added, a set screw as shown. It has almost no overtravel and a 2 1/2 # very clean, match quality trigger.

And, in that photo, note the "69", as the first part of the serial number.

I like the thinner forearm vs. the thicker one. The checkering is not the best, but OK. Rosewood grip cap.

As you can tell, this one is a keeper.
