It's in the eye of the beholder. Some may be able to shoot the longer, slightly heavier barrel better.

Some bench rest guns have shorter barrels.

How about my 29" CZ 2500 .22LR? It's accurate, but won't out shoot my Cooper with shorter tube... It'll run with my Marlin 39 pretty well.

BTW, that very long barrel is pretty quiet as one would think.
