I have told this story before, but it still makes me grin each time I relate it.

My son and daughter were about five and four. And I was out in the garden early one spring day where I had just finished back filling over a row of seed spuds.

The kids got up about 8:00 AM and came out to help. I handed them a bag of M&Ms and let them plant them down the row on top of the spuds.

Several weeks later, when the potato plants were about a foot tall and bushed out well, I scattered a bag of M&M" fun size packs under the foliage. And told the kids their "M"s were ready for harvest.

They gleefully set to filling a leftover Easter basket with M&M packs. My five year old son picked up about four or five packets, then stopped and slowly turned to look at his Mom and I.

"And just how did they get into the paper packets?"

Momma and I could hardly contain our laughter.

People who choose to brew up their own storms bitch loudest about the rain.
