Got last years WT buck with a Remington Model 8 in .35 Rem with the factory irons. I then began searching for a bolt gun with the better peep sights to hunt deer with. Modern scoped rifles are beginning to bore me. The want list included Model 54 and 70 Winchesters, Remington 30 Express, and of course a nice M98 set up for peeps. This should work fine as a vintage deer rifle, and the fact that its a more rare carbine is kinda cool. Im sure it will measure out fine and with a 57WJS in place it will be seeing the woods this November. Might need a proper Filson coat to go with this!!


Yes a red and black plaid coat would be the ticket. I bought a pair of the plaid lace up legging pants from 40's and coat from the 50's this spring to wear this season. Might get a funny look or two but don't care.
