IIRC, Ruger got Pacific Tool and Gauge to make them a few .22-204 reamers to test. They were thinking about bringing out a sister round to the .204. It was referred to as the .22-204 Ruger. They didn't bring it out, but it caught on as a wildcat. I have two, one fast twist, one slow. Nice round.

Actually it was a different company that had half a million brass (IIRC) made, test loading was completed, the forward was written for the round in the latest loading manual, and then the company pulled the plug at the last minute, without a peep as to why.
