On my bird hunting trips out there we’ve found coyotes incredibly easy to call in October they do smarten up in a hurry once you start hunting an area but there’s so much to hunt out there you won’t have to call to the same coyotes twice. It’s completly different than what I’m used to in Wisconsin. As long as you get away from the truck and it’s out of sight from approaching coyotes,you keep the wind from blowing your scent into the area they’re coming from you’ll call them in.

Last season was the fifth year in a row I bird hunter Montana and the bird numbers weren’t good at all. I’d be more concerned with that.
