Just got back my 6.5-284 norma in a long action 700 BDL that was a 30-06. The rifle feeds just fine is the bullets are loaded in the middle of the magazine, but if they are pushed to the rear the seem to stay deep in the magazine and the bolt wont catch them to feed into the chamber.

It's always prudent,to Start At The Fhuqking Start.

What you are up against,is the magbox's feed lips being too narrow at the stern,which precludes rounds from riding higher...in relation to the bolt's nose. Simply open those 'lips,to align the geometry you like. Springs don't stay sprung,but alas,not everyone shoots. Once the 'box is tweaked,it's forever and ever Amen.
