I’ve always liked rifles between 7.5-9 lbs all up with a variable scope. Iron sights and qd rings being a must...for both backup and the times iron sights make more sense. I’m a generalist...I hunt lots of different things in lots of different places.
Seems like hunters have been using setups like this for a long time...in style or not.
Some folks ARE mountain hunters...some ARE snipers.
In general though most that use ultra lite guns wish they were mountain hunters and those with 10lb heavy barreled target guns are living out tactical fantasies.
