If you're spending the money for a custom project you need to make sure with your stockmaker. If he uses a duplicator, he could send you the pattern if you're too far to show up at the shop. Worth the $ spent on shipping a pattern back & forth, with the metalwork if possible. Doesn't have to be polished to the nines for this purpose, just needs the correct trigger and sights, or bases in the correct location. My point here is that there doesn't need to be a bunch of labor $$ tied up in what gets shipped. Sights can even be super glued on just to check fit. Scope bases as well, but they need to be similar in height to the final product.
