Wisconsin is within the historical range of the cougar... as is every state in the lower 48. Wisconsin has 17,000,000 acres of forested land. I think the state can handle a few kitty cats. The Western states do fine.
Wisconsin USED to have a huge whitetail deer population, after wolves, bears and now Mountain lions not so much. That's what I hear from guys I know in Northern Wisconsin. Too many damned predators that the DNR won't let you hunt.
