That's a fantastic drilling! Any idea who the engraver was?
It's possible several engravers worked on it. As house gunmaker to the Kaiser and King, these were to be as perfect as possible. Nagel & Menz no doubt employed the finest craftsmen. Some engravers specialized in scroll work, while others were wildlife artists.
I was excited to find the gun and will use it in the field on my quail and some preserve pheasant. No stumbling up grouse and chuckar mountains for this gun.
