Deerstalker: I think that Rifle sold (allegedly!) for $1,800.00 MORE than I would have paid for it!
I have been invited to participate in so many fake bid scams over the years on "gunbreaker" that I don't give much credence to that site at all.
I prefer to do my dealings face to face then next in line would be the classified ads on this site with ads listed by long term members.
A higher volume gunshop I frequent, here in Montana, had a very similar condition/vintage pre-64 Winchester Model 94 in 30-30 that sat in their gunrack for nearly a year - priced at $950.00!
It is now gone from their shelves but I am certain it did not sell for anywhere's near $2,000.00+!
I am shaking my head!
