Never been successful with dried beans. Couple of cans of pork and beans (Fareway or ALDI are good - NOT Van Camps!) - drain in a strainer. Cut up some bacon and brown - add cut-up green onion partway through. Dump in the drained beans. Add ketchup and brown sugar, some WooChesterShire sauce and dried mustard. Don't overcook - heat and let cool to get rid of most moisture. Reheat to eat.
