I have occasionally done it. I have shot three squirrels with a rifle in my whole life. one with a .38/40, a second with a scoped .257 Roberts, and the last one with iron sighted .35 Remington. I believe in using enough gun, LOL!
But rimfire hunting does sound like a lot of fun.
