It's decent stuff, but very finicky. I had a bunch of misfires this weekend, and I clean meticulously between every round- bore, breech plug, flash hole and flash channel. Magnum primers, correct diameter breech plug. It just isn't as easy to ignite as 777. It doesn't leave the crud ring and cleans up nicely with any regular powder solvent, but I'm gonna shoot another pound of it before I trust it on a tag that takes me five years to draw...



What gun are you shooting? I’ve shot 6-8 jugs of BH209 and I’ve never had a misfire.


Same here . I use std Winchester shot gun primers and have never had misfire or no fire.It does have to be seated firmly.On the other hand both Pyrodex and 777degrades.Keep a jug of it from year to yer and it will give you erratic groups unless it is sealed very very well in storage.
