The majority of hotels/motels will not accept cash w/o a credit card info on file...otherwise a 'guest' could take off after trashing a room or stealing the sheets and they'd have no way to be compensated...

Much of the reason for that is to ensure the payee's not getting scammed... Thanks to an alert Walmart employee, an elderly lady known to us was saved from scammers when they questioned her purchase of gift cards totaling more than $5K.... When she realized what was about to happen she was mortified that she nearly got taken for a ton of bux...
