I have been told that you can ruin a 22 LR specific can by over pressuring it with 223 or 5.56 ammo. Was I misinformed?
No, you were not misinformed. ".22 LR" suppressors are not built to the same standards as suppressors made for high power rounds. This is evidence by the price difference. But that doesn't mean they won't handle the occasional round or two, but they will not hold up to sustained use on a .223.
