I'm thinking the G44 will be a good Steel Challenge gun, trail gun, plinking gun, small game gun, all while being reliable and sized to fit near everyone. Everything a smaller 22 is supposed to be.
I've got a MK IV Ruger 22/45 Lite with a red dot that is fun to shoot but awkward to carry.
I've also got an M&P 22 compact that I use as a 22, not a trainer for my full size guns.
I had a Kimber 1911-22 and totally agree that it wasn't even close to shooting a real 1911 but it served it's purpose. Look at the G44 for what it is and I think it will work great. Will it sell? Last week I was in 5 gun shops and found 2 that were already spoken for and waiting lists at every store but one.
