Been a deer hunter since I was 20 (killed two that year in MD with a shotgun & slug - 1976). After that I switched to a Ruger M-77 in 270 WIN that my wife bought for me in early 1978, great rifle and still own it. However, I bought this used Winchester M-88 in 308 WIN in 1995, for whatever reason I fell in love with it and it has been my favorite ever since (owned two other M-88's for awhile, but both are long gone). This one trucks on, making meat for me every season. I have other very good deer rifles but have to force myself to use them.
