Rock, unfortunately KS must not require brand inspectors at every sale barn, unless it's changed. Brand inspectors can go wherever they want but you can sell cattle at several barns that don't have them unless they show up on there own. The KLMA puts out faxes and emails informing all the sale barns of the stolen cattle but years ago lots of them were sold in Dodge City when they had 10,000 head runs, no inspector, but usually someone showed up on big bunches. Not sure about the states that require brand inspection receipts with the cattle but they have to have health papers to cross state lines.
