I hope they catch the thieves. That still ought to be a hanging offence.
About 25 or 30 years ago in a town just west of us named DeKalb, Texas had a couple rustlers. The 2 brothers that owned the cattle got there before the deputies. They had 1 swingging when deputies got there just in time to cut him down. The ebony rustlers got arrested and 1 owner brother got arrested for assault. Ended up everyone got out of the charges. To this day the 1 that that swung still has a ring around his neck from rope burn.
