I’ve never had a reason to swap a barrel on one.

I've owned a pile of Remington Sevens since 1987. Every single factory specs Model Seven with an 18.5" or 20" barrel was butt-heavy. Butt-heavy isn't the perfect balance for me, but it might be for you. The only 20" Model Sevens that I've had with good balance are stainless barreled actions that I installed in the laminated mannlicher-style stocks from Remington's custom shop.

I currently have 10 Model Sevens; 6 have longer, 22" thru 26" replacement barrels, 2 are the 20" barreled actions in laminated mannlicher-style stocks, and the other 2 are NIB.
