I grew up reading jack o'connor and wanted a win model 70 270 just like his #2. When Winchester started making the super grade in south Carolina I bought one. Truly a beautiful rifle, superb wood and high gloss blued metal. I killed some deer and an elk with it but was always so careful to avoid scratching the wood. A couple years ago I gave it to one of my grandsons. He's 10 now and will probably start hunting with it in a couple of years.
