One you remained employed w/ bene’s but no pay.

One your unemployed entirely.




On a furlough you typically know when it's going to end "Furloughed till May 1" for instance. Laid off is "We don't know when you'll be called back. Maybe" vs "Let go - which is you're not coming back at all"
