Calhoun, the only markings are a zero stamped in front of where the OFF stamp should be but is NOT present. Zero is in the ser # 119083. This rifle was not fired much at all. The bore is great with just a small amount of frosting in it. The action is very clean and tight, as is the lever and slide safety. No rattling whatsoever. Wood may have been refinished but no cracks or big gouges anywhere. Front sight is a blade sight, Rocky mountain? I don't think it was cut. bore is rounded NOT straight cut.

Was just looking at a picture of one of my early takedown barrels, and it had similar markings. No OFF stamp and just a letter on the barrel. So nothing wrong with that.

Early 1899A/B/C's had a flat cut muzzle, so it sounds as though aftermarket shortened or a later barrel. Nice gun, better shape than my 25-35's.
