Helicopters a bunch. Made me feel safe, autogyrate.
I knew a guy who was a medic in Vietnam, he's gone down four times in choppers. He wouldn't get in a fixed-wing, he said they needed too much room to crash.
I don't know how he got home; did they use ships to transport returning GIs? Maybe the desire to get home overrode his fear.
