Just to put this data in perspective, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the liberal Democrat who held one of New York's U.S. Senate seats (the one Hillary was elected to after he retired) wrote a paper while he was serving in the Nixon administration, in which he the black family as being in crisis because the illegitimacy rate in black families had risen to 23%. All three major ethnic groups in this country now exceed that number and two of the three more than double it.

Do you think that the absence of stable families in all of these communities might just explain a lot of the dysfunction we see in the socio-economic groups about whom this statistic applies?
