Illinois is in violation of it's own statute on this. They are required by state law to issue or deny their unconstitutional FOID card within a given time limit, which they have never tried to achieve. IIRC the time limit is 90 days, and the state maintains that that means 90 business days.

Current issue/denial times are running around 9 months to well over a year. The FOID question is currently before the US Illinois Supreme Court, and many believe that the state knows it will be ruled unconstitutional, and are therefore not expending resources on the system.
According to some dealers who have an interest in the system, and facilitate applications for a fee, the issuance of FOIDs has completely halted in recent months.

It would be a large win to overturn the FOID law, but Illinois will block all firearms sales until they pass another equally offensive and unconstitutional law to replace it, if we win.
