Some like me will recall NYC of the ‘70’s and ‘’80’s; porn, prostitutes and drugs being openly marketed on the sidewalks of Downtown Manhattan. We lived 30 minutes away from NYC and rarely went, like most of our neighbors or anyone else anywhere in New York State.

Giuliani gets credit for turning things around, and his timing musta been right; a demand that led to gentrification of whole neighborhoods.

For the last 20 years at least taking the train to Grand Central to spend a day in Manhattan was a thing.... great restaurants, shows, Chinatown, Empire State Building, Museum of Natural History, Central Park etc etc........

Dunno what’s going to happen now, or where the pendulum will swing back to.
