Depends on how big it is. It could be no bigger than a yardstick or ruler. You don’t think the Air Force space plane spent 780 classified days in space doing nothing do you?

The "rods from god" idea was a bundle of telephone-pole-size (20 feet long, 1 foot in diameter) tungsten rods, dropped from orbit, reaching a speed of up to 10 times the speed of sound. The rod itself would penetrate hundreds of feet into the Earth, destroying any potential hardened bunkers or secret underground sites.
Incredible kinetic energy transfer without radiation. Would be easy to pick up on radar but impossible to defend against. Many countries would have been able to detect such a strike. Could see it buring up in re-entry, so to speak especially at night. Russia, China, India, Pakistan, France, Itay, Germany, GB etc would all know from monitoring. Hell of a concept!
