Yup, this is what I have my Husqvarna 1640 sighted in for. It loves this stuff. Haven't had the opportunity to kill anything but paper with it though.

Here is a post on the take a mauser hunting thread I posted.
With pics.

Used to shoot ppu 196gr soft point.

I shot a 3.5 yr old mutant rack 5pt on slumlords place last year with the bullet. Thought it was a decent 8 put about 4 or 5 mins of freeze, walk, run , sprint on it using terrian and tree line cover .
Got braced alongside a tree. About a 125 130 yard shot from one rolling ridge over a small valley to the other
That bullet deposited alot of energy in that deer.
Moment of impact the deer shuddered thru the scope way more than I have seen before. Went about 35 yards.
Buck had a shriveled nut sack, grape sized balls. 4 pts on one side main beam on the other

Never found the round.
Bout a 1.25 " exit wound
Blood trail from spot where shot to down.
Was curious how the blood trail looked
Followed it back to the shot site
Stevie wonder could have followed it.
Looked like Jack the Ripper ran thru the open oaks with a bucket of blood.

I need ta get out with my rifle, installed a timney in it about 10 days ago.
Waiting on cooler weather, dont like to shoot in the heat with sweat rolling into my eyes, I dont get paid to do that anymore. LOL!!!

That Timney is a huge step up from the 98 2 stage.
I did some polishing on that 2 stage and clipped a coil.
Improved it alot and was nice for what it was.
But a single stage Timney outclasses it by far.
JMO...
also it is a close feel to my mod70ot6.
All 4 of my scoped long guns have Sightron SII 3-9x42 scopes
on them, so its consistent in my mind sight picture wise

OCD gun stuff to me.....
