I made a shot almost identical to that on the biggest mule deer buck I'd ever loosed an arrow at, with the same results. A real monster I'd stalked to within 30 yards of. He trned and the arrow hit him exactly like that. Fixed blade head. Just too steep. I got within 10 yards of the same buck later in the day and he had a bloody spot on his side but was fine.
