I'm a traditionalist, i like the walnut stocks. I stripped my CZ .375 down to slim/rework the stock for handling and aesthetic reasons, with good success, but the stock is so lightweight on its own i doubt if this affected weight much. The weight is in the action/barrel mostly it seems with a traditionally stocked rifle.

I was not a fan of the 25" barrel and had it cut down to 23" which is perfect and i don't think 22" would have bin too short. Didn't affect accuracy at all, but it shaved some ounces off for sure. Enough to make a difference in the bush? Nope. It's just a heavy rifle, as most magnum safari rifles are. You get used to it. Plus it helps keep you in shape. wink

From a race of hunters, artists, warriors, and tamers of horses, we degraded ourselves to what we are now: clerks, functionaries, laborers, entertainers, processors of information.
