Hard to beat the older Brownings for price/value ratio. Both my Low Walls have lovely wood and metalwork. The Hornet is about as consistently accurate as any rifle I've ever owned. B78s are also great rifles, usually with nice wood too. Current Wichesters generally don't have as nice wood, but are still solid values. Not long ago, Browning was selling B78s (IIRC), that were really 1885s. Never saw one, so can't comment on the wood.

As a group, they rank highly among my favorite rifles, in case I didn't get that point across earlier😜



We need to pit your Hornet against my .223 Low Wall some day. I'm sure the tension in the air at the range that day will be palpable!😁
